Pursuant to the Rules for Prequalification of Contractors and Issuance of Plans and Proposals, 44 Illinois Administrative Code 650.70,... "This contract requires, in addition to the normal IDOT prequalifications requirements, that the Contractor be SSPC - QP1 and QP2 certified. Evidence of certification must be provided prior to receiving authorization to bid." Contractors are required to submit copies of current certificates for each Letting. These certificates must be submitted along with the contractor's original BC 57 Affidavit of Availability. (BC 57)

Would we be able to erect a suspended platform underneath the structure and under the truss (maintaining proper clearance) over the road?

Platforms are allowed but Contractor will be required to obtain Coast Guard approval for any work that may interfere with navigational operations of navigable waters, ensure proper clearance over roadway and provide calculations that assure the structural integrity of the bridge when it supports the platform. Calculations and drawings shall be signed and sealed by a structural engineer licensed in the state of Illinois. (07/25/2018)
Being that this project is being advertised towards the end of the summer with the fall season approaching would it be possible to begin this project in the spring without being charged working days? It will take 30-60 days for contract award and execution. The weather is also something to take into consideration with the fall having significant rain.

The District has no objections to have this contract start in the spring of next year. No working days will be charged to the contract. (07/24/2018)
