  • What is the maximum allowed closure length?
    According to Article 701.05 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction - 3 miles or 1 day's production whichever is less. (02/23/2021)

  • Will the state allow cape seal in the areas designated as microsurfacing only for the reason of providing a higher durability and better quality product?
    The Department intends for the work to be performed as shown in the plans. (02/23/2021)

  • The schedule on sheet 6 in the plans calls for a fog seal to be placed on mainline and turn lanes, is this an error? If not do you want the fog seal to be placed on the micro, chip seal or after the surface removal?
    As noted on page 10 of the Special Provisions, a Fog Seal application is to be added to the pavements receiving a Cape Seal treatment. The Fog Seal should be placed between the chip seal and micro-surfacing. (02/05/2021)

  • Page 1 of the special provisions states that traffic control standard 701401 will be used any time a night-time lane closure is required. Is the surface removal and cape seal work to be done at night?
    The intent is to use the day/night Traffic Control Standard 701401 so that the lane closure would not be mandated to be removed and fully opened to traffic at the close of each work day. The work can progress during the day and the closure can stay up during non-working hours. (02/05/2021)
