  • The drawings indicate that the last two box culverts will need to be tied together (note on sheet 13) as per the last drawing (sheet 17). The detail on sheet 17 details for a single run. This project is a double run. In order to tie the culverts together, the joint spacing will need to be staggered, Is this acceptable? Also, the spacing between the two parallel culverts are noted to be 3" (Sheet 12), the restrain angle is 4", therefore the gap will need to be greater than 4".
    An addendum is forthcoming to clarify this issue. The culvert ties shown on sheet 17 of the plans will only be required on the exterior walls of the culvert. The 3" space between the culverts will be filled with Class SI concrete. With no culvert ties between the two box culverts, the joint spacing will not have to be staggered and the 3" spacing will not have to be increased. (02/27/2019)

  • Is a protection board required for the waterproofing membrane?-or drainage mat?
    An addendum is forthcoming on this project. The special provision Membrane Waterproofing for Buried Structures will be revised and include the requirements for this work. (02/19/2019)
