  • Please confirm that the Bridge Rail will need to be fabricated by a shop certified by AISC as prescribed in IDOT Article 106.08 ‘Certification of Metal Fabricators’.
    The fabrication requirements for this item are specified in Section 509 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. (06/05/2019)

  • The proposed length and type (Type B = 3.125' post spacing) of the Remove and Re-Erect Guardrail appears to be incorrect. Please review and revise this item.

  • 50900205 Steel Rail, Type S-1: On plan sheets 3,6 & 8 it calls for S-1 rail(which uses 12 x 4 x 1/4 tube) but the existing plan sheets show type "S" rail with 12 x 3 x 3/16 tube. This tube is no longer available and was used before the current CVN testing was required. The only option I see is to replace all 60' of tube on the south side with the new S-1 tube. Will this be acceptable? Thanks.
    An addendum is forthcoming on this issue. Quantities for Steel Railing, Type S-1 and Steel Railing Removal will be revised. (05/30/2019)
