  • Can information and details be provided on the structure removal at the Leverett Storage Facility be provided.
    No additional information is available for existing structure removal. Contractor is encouraged to visit the Leverett site to inspect existing conditions. Following the specifications, Contractor is required to saw-cut existing wall and remove the existing concrete for new structure construction. (01/11/2021)

  • Based upon the details for the foundations, it appears that the footings are to be formed and not bank poured. Can you confirm that is the intent?
    Formed footings are the intent for foundations. (01/06/2021)

  • Can contact information be provided for each of the facility to make a pre-bid site visit.
    Contractors are encouraged to coordinate site visits with IDOT Maintenance Field Engineer. Contact information can be found under Sequence of Operations on page 3 of the Special Provisions. Carl Phillips, PE (217) 278-3195. (01/06/2021)

  • What are the depths of the existing underground water and electric utility the run underneath where the new storage facility is being built at Tuscola? I assume we are to assume that they are deep enough for the construction of the new structure? The note just says to protect in place. Not sure what that means. Please clarify what work you want us to do, if any, for these existing utilities.
    The contractor is to JULIE locate to verify location and depth prior to construction activities. Underground utilities are assumed to be of sufficient depth to not interfere with new structure construction. Utilities are to be relocated in future by IDOT. See Status of Utilities on page 5 of the Special Provisions. (01/06/2021)
