The drawings call out pay item 70600270 - Impact Attenuator Temporary Redirective Wide - TL-3. A fully-redirective attenuator must be anchored to the pavement in order to meet the crash test requirements. Are we to drill the anchors into the bridge deck? Also, is there a reason the attenuator is called out to be "wide"? A narrow attenuator will cover the end of the temporary barrier without issue.
A non-redirective narrow attenuator may be a better solution for this project.

The drawings call out temporary full-redirective attenuators wide (pay item 70600270) for in front of the temporary concrete barrier. A narrow attenuator will work fine in front of concrete barrier. Is there a reason why wide attenuators are being called for? Also, it appears that SB US-67 the attenuator will have to drilled and epoxied into the bridge deck. Please confirm that this is the intent as we have never seen this done before.
