  • Will the permanent markings be required to have 2 coats? Can you clarify what section 620-2.3.a is referring to since there is no 620-2.3.a listed in the specs for this project?
    Please refer to specification section Item 620 in The State of Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics, Standard Specifications for Construction of Airports, adopted September 25, 2020 (latest revision), as well as the Special Provisions for this project. (01/12/2022)

  • Can a detail or description be provided for Item AR751952 Adjust Underdrain Structure? We need to know what existing material is being tied on to and/or if there are existing concrete colars etc to contend with.
    A: According to record drawings, the underdrain structures appear to be a 6” diameter tube (PE or other material) with a typical cast iron frame and cover (similar to Neenah R-6013 or East Jordan 2790-6). The record drawings also indicate a concrete collar (18” dia.) surrounding the casting at grade. Please note that some of the existing structures were not able to be surveyed in the field, so we cannot confirm the condition of each structure. The intent of the structure adjustments is for the top of casting to be level with the proposed grade, with a concrete collar similar to existing conditions. (01/11/2022)

  • Are the RDR basecans B-size or D-size? Page 48 detail indicates both.
    On Plan Sheet 48, the transformer base can that is to be located immediately adjacent to the proposed distance remaining sign shall be an L-867 Size B can, as noted on the details. The proposed L-867 Size D junction can that is also shown on the “Distance Remaining Sign Plan Detail” on this sheet is representing a junction can that is to be installed in line with the runway edge lights, and not adjacent to the distance remaining sign. These junction cans are also shown accordingly on the proposed electrical plan sheets. (12/21/2021)

  • Can you please confirm if there are any Runway Can Lights? If so, please provide a total amount for Runway Grooving purposes
    There are no existing or proposed runway can lights within the proposed paving/grooving limits for this project. (12/21/2021)
