Silt Fence as specified does not meet the requirements for domestic origin. Please advise on an approved substitute.

The silt fence specifications are intended to be a minimum requirement for the material performance, and a specific manufacturer/product is not listed. If a suitable material meeting the Buy American Act requirements cannot be provided, the Consultant will coordinate with the awarded Contractor prior to the Construction Notice to Proceed in order to request a waiver from the FAA for such materials to be used on the project. On sheet 16, note 4 states "cut-off sheets" will be required to ensure straight edges. Please advise what a "cut-off sheet" is. This work can be completed with a long line striping truck which produces straight lines and is designed for this type of work. If we use a truck would "cut off sheets" be required?

The intent of the plan notes is to ensure straight edges on all markings. If a “long line striping truck which produces straight lines and is designed for this type of work” is utilized, we don’t anticipate that cut-off sheets would be needed, but we still would expect the final results to be acceptable to the Owner. For markings that do not consist of straight lines or are not conducive to utilizing such a truck, we would expect cut-off sheets to be considered to produce straight edges. (05/31/2018)
