Leveling Binder:
CH 7 7-8 and CH 7 9-10 call for Leveling Binder. Please elaborate on how and where this pay item will be utilized: on the roadway pavement or the shoulder?
If it is utilized on the shoulder, please confirm that it will be acceptable to drive the guardrail posts through the binder and that core-drilling will not be needed.
Please provide start and stop stations for this work.
The leveling binder is intended for specific locations within the existing roadway only, and not the shoulders. "This item will be used to correct the pavement profile at the locations specified in order to allow for a uniform profile of the proposed guardrail. This item will be used at locations CH 7-7 and CH 7-8 and will be approximately 50 feet in length and full width of the existing pavement and be centered near the mid-point of these locations; and also at location CH 7-9 and will be approximately 30 feet in length and approximately 11 feet wide on the right lane only and centered near the mid-point of this location."
