  • PG.168, 403-3.2 DO YOU REALLY WANT A MARSHALL DESIGN? you speak to Memo 96-2 which allows me to run and design off current equipment, then 2 paragraphs later you refer to "Marshall Method of Mix Design" ? On Pg. 171 Note 5. You speak again to Marshall flow and stability in production? Why are we being required to run tests using equipment from 1985?
    You are referencing the wrong ITEM 403 in the standard specs. There are two: ITEM 403 BITUMINOUS BASE COURSE – Pages 166-186 ITEM 403 BITUMINOUS BASE COURSE - SUPERPAVE – Pages 187-207 (this is the spec for this project) As shown in the Summary of Quantities in the Plans and as shown in the Special Provisions, you should be looking at the latter of the two. The same applies to ITEM 401 BITUMINOUS SURFACE COURSE – SUPERPAVE. (04/16/2019)
